Literature Text

Vulnerability won't get you anywhere
Stay cold, stay distant
And things just come to you

You'll get what you want

It's hard at first
Having so much to say
With your mouth sewn shut

Your words begin to drown your tongue

A close mouthed smile
Just nodding along with I love yous
And in the end it'll be worth it

Your heart will be fully intact

She'll think you're heartless
But you'll know better
You can still hear it

Pounding away in your ears

And she'll look at you confused
Tears streaming down her face
Until she walks away

While you stand there, like a stone

You can scream on the inside
And hold out your hands, begging
But only after she's gone

Let her leave to keep the upper hand

You'll be left alone
But you'll stand strong
On shaky legs, sure

But who's legs are really all that stable?

Another girl will come
And when she does you'll learn
How to smile with your eyes

Show your soul and she'll fall in love

But don't give yourself away
Never whisper, "I need you"
Because she's never really sleeping
And never say, love

Love is vulnerability

Heart on my sleeve, like an open book. That's me. It's just too bad, that I can't read others (and myself) in a love relationship. And then I end up dumbed. For being too much in (to) it.
